Day-by-day itinerary
Day1Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley
We cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass, stopping at an argan oil cooperative. Visit the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a filming location for Gladiator and Game of Thrones, and Ouarzazate with Taourirt Kasbah. Through the Valley of the Roses and the Skoura palm grove we reach the Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight in a riad.
Day2Dades and Todra Gorges – Tinjdad – Touroug – Erfoud – Merzouga
Panoramic views of the Dades Gorges, then along the road of the kasbahs to the Todra Gorges, a canyon with sheer vertical walls. In the afternoon we reach the Merzouga desert: welcome tea, a dromedary caravan to the camp and sunset from the dunes. Dinner, Berber music and a night in a haima (Berber tent).
Day3Merzouga – Rissani – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Sunrise over the dunes and a return by dromedary or 4×4. Stops in the Tafilalet palm grove and in Rissani, famous for its market. We continue through Alnif, the Tazarine oasis, the Draa Valley, Agdz and the Ait Saoun pass, arriving in Marrakech at night.
